Survey of Tourism Businesses and Operators

Posted by Ginny Henry | September 22, 2012 | BruceGreySimcoe, regional tourism functional assessment, RTO7, survey
The second phase of the Regional Tourism Functional Assessment project, an initiative that is being championed by the RTO7 Partnership Advisory Council, is now launching.

An electronic survey to gather input from tourism businesses and operators is now available. If you own or manage a tourism-focused business or attraction in BruceGreySimcoe, we’d like to hear from you!

The survey can be found HERE.

(Please note that all information gathered is protected, and only aggregate findings will be communicated.)

The objectives of this project are first, to create a ‘systems map’ of destination marketing and management organization (DMMO) efforts on behalf of some 200 organizations (including municipal stakeholders) active in tourism across BruceGreySimcoe; and secondly, use this information base to discover ways that organizations can work together more effectively. For more information visit the project resource page.

To date we’ve received responses from one-third of DMMOs and municipalities who have been surveyed about their role and function. Interviews and one-on-one consultations are currently taking place. If your organization hasn’t yet responded to this initial survey, we really need to hear from you.

Study findings and recommendations will be presented for validation and feedback early in 2013. If you have questions or would like to offer input into the study please contact project lead Val LeBlanc of PLACES Consulting.

Hi Veronika,

Thanks for your question - the survey is actually in the article just above, but wasn't very evident, so I've tried to make it stand out a bit more clearly.

We appreciate your interest in completing it.

Hi Tony,

I'm not sure why your survey is zooming into a fine print size and restarting. I've not heard of that being a problem but have asked the survey designer whether this is something they've encountered before and if so if there's a fix.

If you would like to submit your input in the meantime please email me at ahogan@rto7.ca and we'll work something out.

Thanks for your patience.
